Program Transfer Utility

The Program Transfer Utility allows CARE Administrators to perform a bulk transfer of children from one program to another program.



To use the program transfer utility:

  1. Open the Program Transfer Utility by going to Main Menu > Utilities > Program Transfer.

  2. Enter an Effective Date. The date entered will determine which schedules should be updated. Only schedules that are active as of the Effective Date will be updated.

  3. Check the Include future program entries check box to include future program entries and future schedules.

  4. Click the Add button on the [Add Programs to Transfer] line.

  5. Select a program in the Transfer From field.

  6. Select a program in the Transfer To field.

  7. Click the Save button to save the line.

  8. Repeat steps 4 - 7 if there are multiple program transfers.

  9. Click the Transfer button.



This action cannot be undone. Please contact NoHo Support if you have any questions before running any of these utilities.


Additional Information

The Program Transfer Utility will function differently based on the selection made for the “Program assignment will be tracked at the Schedule Detail Level/Child Level” option on the Validation Page of System Options.

If the system option is set to track the program at the schedule detail level, the utility will:

  1. Locate all schedules that are in effect as of the Effective Date (or later if the “Include future program entries” check box is checked) with the program selected in the Transfer From field.

  2. Record the Schedule Stop Date from the existing schedule before updating the Schedule Stop Date to one day prior to the date entered in the Effective Date field.

  3. Create a duplicate schedule, using the Effective Date as the Schedule Start Date. The program for the new schedule will be set to the program selected in the Transfer To field. The Schedule Stop Date of the new schedule will be set to the Schedule Stop Date of the original schedule.


If the system option is set to track funding source at the child level, the utility will:

  1. Set the Program Stop Date equal to one day prior to the date entered in the Effective Date field for all child program entries in effect as of the Effective Date (or later if the “Include future program entries” check box is checked).

  2. Create a new program entry with the Program Start Date set to the date entered in the Effective Date field.
