Family Search Form
The Family Search Form is accessible throughout CARE and can be accessed by clicking on the small magnifying glass next to a Family filter or Family ID field. The Family Search Form allows users to search for specific families using various filters.
How to use the family search:
- In the Family Search Page, enter applicable search criteria (see below for information on the filters available).
- Click the Search button.
- In the results section, select the family you want to view by clicking on their name. Or, if the family is not listed, modify the search criteria and click the Search button again to get an updated list of results.
Users have the following filtering options:
- Family ID
- Family Name: You can enter a complete or partial entry.
- Street Address, City, and Zip Code: These fields will filter against the family’s main address only. You can enter a complete or partial entry. If you enter a partial address for the search, the results will only include families with those characters in the beginning of their street address.
- Case Number: This field will filter against the family’s case number. You can enter a complete or partial entry. If you enter a partial case number for the search, the results will only include families with those characters in the beginning of their case number.
- SSN: You can enter a complete or partial entry. If you enter a partial SSN number for the search, the results will only include families with those characters in the beginning of their SSN number.
- Phone Number: This will filter for families with the specified phone number in the "Home Phone" field of the Parent Info Tab or entered on the Communication Tab. You must enter the entire phone number when using this filter.
- Show and Term Date Range: You can select "All Families", "No Term Date Entered" or "Terminated Families."
- If you select "All Families", all families will be included.
- If you select "No Term Date Entered", only families without a termination date will be included in the results (dates entered in the Term Date Range filters do not have any impact).
- If you select "Terminated Families," only families with a termination date during the date range entered will be included in the results.
Applicable Setup and System Options
- There is a "Limit data displayed on family search form for families outside of the user’s allowed divisions" system option (on the General Page of System Options). When this option is enabled, only the family name will be displayed in the results listing for families outside of the users allowed divisions (as defined on the User Security Page). When this option is not enabled, families outside of the users allowed divisions will not be included in the search results at all.
- There is a system option on the Misc Format Page of System Options. The option can be used to specify the default cursor placement for the Family Search Form.
