Rank Setup Form

The Rank Setup Form is used to maintain the income and family size information issued by CDE and used to calculate a family’s rank in CARE.

Tips

  • When the state releases a new rank schedule, NoHo Software will update this information in CARE.

Historical rank information should not be deleted from the Rank Setup Form. The Effective Date field allows CARE to transition between the rank guidelines while maintaining historically accurate data. You can view historical rank information using the Rank Effective Date filter.

Important: When changes have been made to the Rank Setup Form, you must run the Family Fees Update Utility on the Utilities Menu.

Additional Information

  • A new set of ranks (with a new effective date) must be entered on this form each time the rank schedule is updated.

  • The determination of which rank schedule to use is based on the Family Fee Effective Date on the Family Form: Income/Family Fee Page. The family fee schedule with the most recent effective date that is less than or equal to the Family Fee Effective Date of the income/fee history record will be used to calculate the family rank.

Applicable Setup and System Options

  • There is a "Notify user of Family Income exceeding __ of State Median (Initial)" system option (on the General Page of System Options). When this option is enabled, and the initial income entry for the family is added or edited on the Family Income/Fee History Popup Form, the user will get a warning when the income exceeds the specified % of the State Median Income (defined in this setup form). In addition, a message reading “Family income is in excess of ___% of the state median income” will be system generated on the Change of Income NOA. Note: This is typically set to 70%.

  • There is a "Notify user of Family Income exceeding __ of State Median (Recertification)" system option (on the General Page of System Options). When this option is enabled, there will be an “Initial” and “Recertification” radio button included on the Family Income/Fee History Popup Form. If “Recertification” is selected, the user will get a warning if the income exceeds the specified % of the State Median Income (defined in this setup form)Note: This is typically set to 85%
